ServerCentral Officially Opens Doors to State-of-the-Art Data Center Space
ServerCentral, Chicago’s leading provider of colocation, cloud, IP connectivity, and managed services, announced Wednesday the official grand opening of their 2.6-megawatt and 20,000-square-foot data center expansion in Elk Grove Village, IL. This was ServerCentral’s third expansion there since April 2009, bringing their total footprint within the Tier III facility to over 40,000 square feet and 5.5 megawatts of critical load.
“With all the great feedback we've received from our customers about this location, I’m excited to introduce customers to the momentum of this facility,” said Jordan Lowe, ServerCentral President and CEO. “It is rewarding to reflect on this accomplishment as we plan our next advances to move data center efficiency forward for our customers.”
Key features of the expansion include an available power density of 240 watts per square foot with isolated and redundant electrical topology. The facility’s power, UPS system, and HVAC systems are rated at a minimum of N+2, which means that for each system, there are two backups that ensure ongoing functionality.
Current and future companies that outsource their data center applications to ServerCentral are expected to reap significant financial rewards. The high-density space can support more servers per cabinet, carrying a welcomed byproduct of increased ROI. ServerCentral customers can maximize their purchased space on top of leveraging the notorious economies of scale associated with colocation.
